Cal-Bridge program receives $5 million grant for Ph.D. pathways at 24 campuses
San Jose State University joins a consortium of 15 California State University (CSU) and nine University of California (UC) campuses collectively awarded a five-year, $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to dramatically increase diversity within the fields of physics and astronomy through the Cal-Bridge program.
The Cal-Bridge program is having a significant impact on the disparity to increase representation nationwide by 50%, all from one program in California.
Nuñez’s experience at Cal Poly Pomona has inspired him to earn a Ph.D. in astrophysics.
Adrianna Perez is a senior at California State University, Dominguez Hills where she majors in physics. Adrianna is also a CAMPARE and Cal-bridge Scholar. She was interviewed by her research mentor, Dr. Chao-Ling Hung.
