Winter Undergraduate Workshops
Month: February
Event Type: In-person
Open To: Active undergraduate and masters scholars
Main Topics: Racial Justice & LGBTQ+/Gender Equity (alternates each year), Research Skills II, Leadership & Conflict Resolution
Description:
- Two workshops are held in February, one in the North and one in the South.
- Racial Justice & LGBTQ+/Gender Equity sessions alternate each year, so that they build off of each other and no scholar repeats those sessions.
- Research Skills II builds upon the online session held in October and is discipline specific. This is for the newest cohort (typically Juniors).
- Those who are not in Research Skills II are in the Leadership & Conflict Resolution Session, as they would have completed Research Skills II the previous year.
- Each workshop also has a social event with dinner on Saturday night, to further build relationships among the scholars and faculty mentors.
All workshops are held at UC campuses around the state of California. The Undergraduate workshops are planned to get scholars to a number of different UC campuses so they are familiar with the locations when they apply for graduate programs.
The in-person workshops are held on weekends so scholars don’t miss class. Travel is arranged and paid for by Cal-Bridge.
