Modern Optimization for Data Science

Professor: Jiawang Nie

Description: The Cal-Bridge scholars will be advised to do research of using modern optimization techniques to solve data science application problems. The potential topics include computational optimization, Nash equilibrium, and multi-objective optimization arising from machine learning applications.

Preferred Qualifications: It would be good if the Cal-Bridge scholars have experiences of using Matlab, but this is not a requirement.
