Conductive Atomic Force Microscopy of Emerging 2D Materials

Professor: Mehmet Baykara

Description: Our lab at UC Merced specializes in atomic-resolution imaging and spectroscopy of material surfaces under ambient conditions, using the method of conductive atomic force microscopy (C-AFM). The project that the Cal-Bridge scholar will work on will involve emerging semiconducting 2D materials that are promising building blocks for next-generation electronics. The scholar will work on imaging atomic-scale defects in these materials and measure their influence on electrical properties.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in experimental nanotechnology
