California Computer Science Transfer Pathways
Professor: Christine Alvarado
Description: My research involves examining the structures that either enable or block students’ abilities to thrive in computer science, with a particular focus on equity. My current work examines experiences of transfer students and their pathways to earn 4-year degrees in CS in California. This project will continue my current project which examines course articulation and degree requirements in California Community Colleges and the UC and CSU systems, and students’ experiences with these structures. We will use both quantitative data collection and analysis, as well as (potentially) surveys or interviews to understand students’ experiences.
Preferred Qualifications: Python programming, excellent organization, teamwork and communication skills are required. Data visualization and analysis experience is preferred.
